Help That Is Always There

Psalm 46:1-3

46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble. 2 And so we need not fear even if the world blows up and the mountains crumble into the sea. 3 Let the oceans roar and foam; let the mountains tremble! TLB

Psalm 46:1-3

GOD IS our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas,
3 Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! AMP

No matter what is going on around you, there is no need to fear. God is a tried and true force to be reckoned with when it comes to His children. Take a look into the Word of God and see, read, and think about the many times He’s come through for His children. These accounts should serve to help us grow in our expectation and assurance that the same God about whom we read is there to help us when we need Him.

Disaster may strike all around you. Disappointment may pop up at seemingly every turn. You may feel like the promises, dreams, visions, and goals are so far out of your grasp that you will never reach that place you’ve been trying to get to for years. Be encouraged! God is your strength as you continue the journey; He is your refuge when you need to just take time to build yourself up in Him and rest in Him; He is your help to assist you in enduring and staying the course until the end results are yours.

He is not a distant help, but a very present help, a tested help, a tried help, an always present help, and an always ready help for us in our times of need. There is no reason for us to try to handle things ourselves. There is no reason for us to faint and give up. There is no reason for us to feel alone. God is waiting for the cares, concerns, anxiety, and fear to be released to Him. Accept the help that can only come from the Father. He’s ready to do what only He can do. He is always there to help.

Prayer: “Father, I release all of the cares and concerns to you. You are indeed my always present, tried and true help in the time of trouble. Amen”

Have You Checked Your Fruit Lately?

by Audrea Winbush Lott

John 15:8

8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine. AMP

What you do, what you say, and how you say it are all ways that reflect what you are all about. Where you go, what you listen to, and how you react in situations are also indicators of what you are about, what camp you belong to, and who you are following. We must make sure that in every area of our lives we are attempting to represent the awesome work of Christ and what He’s done. Others should be able to tell that there is something different about you. That difference should draw them, lure them, and cause them to be curious about the difference they see in you. Blending in and being like everyone else serves no purpose for the Kingdom of God. Our gratitude for what He’s done for us should be evident in the lives we lead for Him. We should be beacons of light that help lead others to Him.

Make it a point today to do a “fruit check” and see if things are as they should be. If not, there may be some pruning that needs to take place to get rid of dead twigs and old, dried up fruit – activities, habits, and relationships that need to be dropped. Make sure there is adequate water and fertilizer to help grow the kind of crop that is desired. If there has been a drought of the Word, correct the situation and saturate yourself with the Word of God. If there has been neglect in the area of making sure that you are surrounded by individuals who will help your faith to grow, make a change now. Your life and the lives of others depend on it.

Prayer: “Father, I commit to be a better representative of you and make sure that my fruit is a true indicator of who I am and Whose I am. Amen”

Follow the Path

Psalm 32:8-11

8 The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
9 Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control."

10 Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the LORD.
11 So rejoice in the LORD and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure! NLT

Stop being stubborn. Stop being rebellious. Stop being fearful. Stop allowing doubt to creep in. You do not need a bridle or bit to help force you to go in the right direction. Make up your mind today to trust God. Even when you are in the midst of unrest you can expect God to guide you on the best path for your life.

If you choose to trust in your own way, your own reasoning, or your own plans, you will open the door for sorrows and disappointments. Things may go well for a season, but leaving God’s direction out of your life will not lead to that good and expected end that we read about in Jeremiah 29:11. Choose to be surrounded in, cloaked in, comforted, and protected by the unfailing love that on the Lord can give us. Rejoice as you choose to obey the directions He gives for your life. Be glad, shout the victory, and start walking the path He has laid out for you.

Prayer: “Father, I choose today to listen and obey the direction you have for my life. Thank you for the peace that surrounds me as I walk the path you have laid out for me. Amen”
