Have You Checked Your Fruit Lately?

John 15:8

8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine. AMP

What you do, what you say, and how you say it are all ways that reflect what you are all about. Where you go, what you listen to, and how you react in situations are also indicators of what you are about, what camp you belong to, and who you are following. We must make sure that in every area of our lives we are attempting to represent the awesome work of Christ and what He’s done. Others should be able to tell that there is something different about you. That difference should draw them, lure them, and cause them to be curious about the difference they see in you. Blending in and being like everyone else serves no purpose for the Kingdom of God. Our gratitude for what He’s done for us should be evident in the lives we lead for Him. We should be beacons of light that help lead others to Him.

Make it a point today to do a “fruit check” and see if things are as they should be. If not, there may be some pruning that needs to take place to get rid of dead twigs and old, dried up fruit – activities, habits, and relationships that need to be dropped. Make sure there is adequate water and fertilizer to help grow the kind of crop that is desired. If there has been a drought of the Word, correct the situation and saturate yourself with the Word of God. If there has been neglect in the area of making sure that you are surrounded by individuals who will help your faith to grow, make a change now. Your life and the lives of others depend on it.

Prayer: “Father, I commit to be a better representative of you and make sure that my fruit is a true indicator of who I am and Whose I am. Amen”
