Ask and Expect

James 1:5-8

5 If you need wisdom--if you want to know what God wants you to do--ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 They can't make up their minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do. NLT

When you ask God for direction, ask in faith, expecting to receive the answer. Make sure that you are ready to hear clearly what He has to say. Don’t allow doubt and unbelief to hinder you from walking in the fullness of what God has for you. Remember, needing help, needing guidance, needing direction… those aren’t signs of weakness. Reaching out to God for help is an indication of the awareness of the need for the ultimate source of the very things you need. Remember, God is a good parent. He loves to give us what we need. He is simply awaiting our request.

Make up your mind that you will not be one of those who wavers. Stand firm in your expectation that your Heavenly Father will bring you the answers, the direction, the insight, the guidance and the light you need to help you along the pathway that He has already laid out for you.

Prayer: “Father, thank you for the assurance that when I come to you seeking wisdom, it is indeed mine. Amen”
